Who is Craig Hemke a.k.a. Turd Ferguson?
Known primarily by his nickname "Turd Ferguson," Craig Hemke is the founder and editor of the popular TF Metals Report blog and podcast, covering precious metals, the financial markets, and greater economic trends. Hemke provides accurate technical analysis and price forecasting in the metals markets for the short, intermediate and long term. Most recently, he called "The Bottom" in gold when all other analysts were expecting lower prices.
As indicated by his nom de plume "Turd Ferguson," Hemke tries to provide some levity to the traditionally stodgy financial world. He is often seen in his online videos wearing dark sunglasses and a rather large, silly yellow foam hat. (The name "Turd Ferguson" originally came from a Saturday Night Live skit.)
Hemke was a licensed securities professional (Series 7) for nearly twenty years. Disgruntled by the fraud known as "financial planning," he retired to a career as a "serial entrepreneur" in 2008. In 2011, spurred by fans of his comments on Zero Hedge, Hemke started his own blog, which has since expanded to a full online community with a passionate group of avid followers.
Hemke is known affectionately by his fans as "Turd" or "The Turd."While Hemke's daily coverage of metals markets often appeals to traders, he also recommends longterm planning for a potential economic collapse. TF Metals Report therefore also attracts a lot of precious metals "stackers" (people who are saving gold and silver for a possible currency reset). Hemke is a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a BS in Economics. He has been an active commodity option trader since 1987.
