SAMSUNG GALAXY S5 SOFTWARE UPGRADE NIGHTMARE JUNE 14, 2015

*****SAMSUNG SOFTWARE UPGRADE FAIL*****

SAMSUNG  UPGRADE RUINS PHONE FUNCTIONALITY

ATTENTION:  U.S. CELLULAR USERS and SAMSUNG GALAXY S5 USERS

After some long hours on the phone with U.S. CELLULAR TECH SUPPORT over the last few days I have finally learned that the RECENT SOFTWARE UPGRADE has thrown the functionality of the SAMSUNG GALAXY S5 phone into a complete technical nightmare.  Both U.S. CELLULAR TECH SUPPORT SPECIALISTS and CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS cannot figure out this problems and frustrations are rising as people (including myself) have lost application software, pictures, data, contacts, and various personal setting even to the point where we have been instructed by U.S. CELLULAR TECH SUPPORT to do several FACTORY RESETS of our phones to try and rectify this issue.

I'm posting this message on my BLOGSPOT here as an unofficial INFORMATION BULLETIN which may at least make people aware that this is being described to me by U.S. CELLULAR as a SAMSUNG PROBLEM.  I don't like it but today we are forced to deal with many complicated technical issues that are not covered by warranty and we have a combination of problems here that involve U.S. CELLULAR, GOOGLE ANDROID OS, and SAMSUNG.

For us END USERS of electronic devices obtaining proper tech support is an absolute nightmare after being on the phone for hours and no one can come up with answers I was forced to call other offices to find out what is going on.  Basically we as END USERS and SUBSCRIBERS who are paying for these service are doing the work and initial troubleshooting for these companies and yet we foot the bill to rent these phones for communication services.

The complications surrounding today's technology is growing worse and worse and tech support and customer service cannot properly handle these matters to the satisfaction of customers.  It is truly a hazard today in dealing with the ever increasing complications of technology to the point where these devices are certainly not user friendly.

I'm wondering if this will cause people (such as myself) to switch over to Apple?

READERS:  IF ANYONE HAS ANY FURTHER INFORMATION ON THIS AND KNOWS ANYONE WHO IS TECH SAVVY AND MAY BE ABLE TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT HERE.  THANK YOU.

I may actually switch over to Apple as a result of this.  Never thought I would go full Apple but I just might after all.

A WORD ABOUT U.S. CELLULAR CUSTOMER SERVICE:  That has been another horrible experience as a customer of U.S. CELLULAR as it has been a very difficult time to obtain technical support and assistance regarding this matter.  Many stores that I have called have no idea what is going on and cannot explain anything to the satisfaction of the customer.   Finally I reached someone who told me others are having this issue and they are hoping for an upgrade fix.  And now I'm being told that this is a Samsung problem and I should simply call them.  This is completely unacceptable as a customer of U.S. Cellular who is paying for phone service and trying to make this problem known to the right people to facilitate a proper resolution.
