Attorneys At Law Debate the OATH OF OFFICE

I...do solemnly swear...so help me God.

Jay Sekulow vs. Michael Weinstein

Michael Weinstein, Founder and President of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel for the American Center For Law and Justice are entangled in legal wrangling over this OATH OF OFFICE debate.  (And of course the mainstream media is the court of public opinion with Judge Megyn Kelly presiding.)

Is this BULLYING?

Jay Sekulow says, "Don't be bullied by my friend Mikey Weinstein.  We're friends, we disagree vehemently on this issue, but the fact of the matter is you cannot say that there's a serious establishment clause violation by the phrase 'so help me God' or the President of The United States would be violating it when they take the oath of office..."

About the OATH OF OFFICE

Has anyone forgotten that the majority of those who take the OATH OF OFFICE are nothing but a bunch of OATH OF OFFICE VIOLATORS?  What this really is here with the court of public opinion below is called "vain jangling."  And beside all this disputing of men of corrupt minds and destitute concerning the faith this promises to increase unto more ungodliness.  If you don't understand that then read it again:

Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
--MATTHEW 5.34-37

But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
--JAMES 5.12

If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
