Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD)
******HUNTERS AND FARMERS REPORTING NUMEROUS DEAD DEER******PARDEEVILLE, WISCONSIN: Today I spoke to Chuck Achterberg of Achterberg Archery in Pardeeville, Wisconsin, Columbia County and he reported that there are area residents finding numerous dead deer across the Columbia County area of Wisconsin. There are unconfirmed reports that several hundred deer have been found dead in the Pardeeville, Portage, and Cambria, Wisconsin areas. Hunters are also reporting they are not seeing many deer while bow hunting and night time shining of whitetail deer.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has identified the disease as Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD) but claim it does not effect humans and the meat is safe to eat.
