Steve Schmitt's SHOE BOX in Black Earth, Wisconsin is one of the finest SHOE STORES I have ever seen. Over the years I would actually come back to Wisconsin to shop for shoes because it simply is THE BEST (I believe) in the entire nation.
Although there may be few other stores in the USA (I do know know of any) Steve Schmitt's store and his employees are a team of their own unlike ever experienced. If you want the best shoe store experience ever experienced you should visit THE SHOE BOX in Black Earth, Wisconsin.
By the way THIS IS NOT AN ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN it is simply the truth from a very satisfied customer over the years.

I was shocked to just read this and did not know the extent to which the shoe box had been flooded by torrential training thunderstorm rains back in late August 2018. I am first now posting this. Although I knew of serious flooding across this region from Madison northwestward though Cross Plains and Black Earth I did not realize that Steve Schmitt's store fell victim to the severe flash flooding.
No doubt Steve is putting 110% of his effort in as usual to operate this business in such manner to maintain its operation. We hope and pray that all that is necessary for a complete recovery of THE SHOE BOX takes place regarding whatever damage has occurred and the complexities of business along with insurance and repairs will allow the SHOE BOX to return to its fully functional capabilities.
If you have never visited the SHOE BOX in Black Earth, Wisconsin you should make it a top priority on your travel plans. Who would ever think that a shoe store would be a place to visit. You can only find out for yourself.
